REMAC Central - Data Deletion Policy

This Data Deletion Policy explains your rights to request deletion of your personal data from REMAC Central and the process REMAC Enterprises, Ltd. ("REMAC", "we", "our", or "us") follows to fulfill such requests.

Important: REMAC Central is a workplace application. If you are an employee using the app through your employer, some data may be owned by your employer and subject to their data retention policies. Please consult with your employer or HR department for questions about employer-owned data.

1. Your Right to Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data that REMAC has collected through the REMAC Central mobile application. This right is provided in accordance with:

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - for EU/EEA residents
  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) - for California residents
  • Google Play Store requirements for data deletion
  • Our commitment to user privacy

2. Data That Can Be Deleted

Upon a valid deletion request, we can delete the following categories of personal data:

2.1 Account Information

  • Your name and email address
  • Account credentials and authentication tokens
  • User profile information
  • Device registration information
  • Push notification tokens

2.2 User-Generated Content

  • Photos you captured and uploaded
  • Documents you scanned (BOLs, PODs, etc.)
  • Messages you sent (personal direct messages)
  • Comments and notes you created

2.3 Activity Data

  • Work status history (clock in/out records)
  • Location data (if GPS tracking was enabled)
  • App usage and activity logs
  • Preferences and settings

3. Data That Cannot Be Deleted

Certain data may be retained even after a deletion request due to legal, regulatory, or legitimate business requirements:

3.1 Legal and Compliance Records

  • DOT/FMCSA Records: Driver logs and records required by Department of Transportation regulations (retained for 6 months to 3 years depending on record type)
  • Billing and Invoice Records: Financial records required for tax compliance (retained for 7 years)
  • Shipping Documentation: BOLs and PODs required for legal disputes or insurance claims
  • Employment Records: Time and attendance data required by labor laws

3.2 Business-Critical Records

  • Delivery Confirmations: Proof of delivery documents that may be needed for customer disputes
  • Audit Trails: Records of document uploads and status changes for compliance audits
  • Insurance Claims: Data related to pending or potential insurance claims

3.3 Aggregated and Anonymized Data

Data that has been aggregated or anonymized so that it can no longer identify you may be retained for analytics and service improvement purposes. This data cannot be linked back to you as an individual.

3.4 Group Messages

Messages sent in group chats (e.g., warehouse teams, dispatcher groups) may be retained as they are part of business communications. Your name may be replaced with "Deleted User" to maintain conversation context while removing your identity.

4. How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your personal data, please follow these steps:

Include in Your Request:

  • Your Full Name: As registered in the app
  • Email Address: The email address associated with your account
  • Account ID or User ID: If known (can be found in app settings)
  • Employer Name: The company you work for (if applicable)
  • Specific Data: Indicate if you want all data deleted or specific categories only
  • Reason: While optional, providing a reason helps us improve our services

Verification

For security purposes, we may need to verify your identity before processing the deletion request. We may ask you to:

  • Confirm your email address by responding from the registered email
  • Provide additional identifying information
  • Answer security questions about your account

5. Deletion Timeline

We process data deletion requests according to the following timeline:

Note: California residents are entitled to a response within 45 days as required by CCPA. EU residents are entitled to response without undue delay and within one month as required by GDPR.

6. Confirmation of Deletion

Once your data deletion request has been processed, we will send you a confirmation email that includes:

  • Confirmation that your request was processed
  • List of data categories that were deleted
  • List of any data that was retained (with explanation of why)
  • Date of deletion completion
  • Contact information for follow-up questions

7. Effects of Data Deletion

Please understand the following consequences of data deletion:

Account Closure

Your REMAC Central account will be permanently closed. You will no longer be able to access the app or any associated services.

Access Revoked

Your login credentials will be invalidated. Any devices where you were logged in will be automatically logged out.

Data Cannot Be Recovered

Once deleted, your personal data cannot be recovered. This includes photos, documents, messages, and other content you uploaded.

Employment Impact

If you are currently employed and using REMAC Central for work, please coordinate with your employer before requesting deletion. Deleting your account may affect your ability to perform job duties that require the app.

8. Partial Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of specific categories of data while keeping your account active. For example:

  • Delete all location history but keep account active
  • Delete specific photos or documents
  • Delete message history from specific conversations
  • Clear work status history older than a certain date

To request partial deletion, specify the exact data you want deleted in your email request.

9. In-App Data Deletion

Some data can be deleted directly within the REMAC Central app:

  • Clear Call History: Settings > Privacy > Clear Call History
  • Delete Individual Photos: Open photo > Delete button
  • Clear Local Cache: Settings > Storage > Clear Cache
  • Logout: Settings > Account > Logout (clears local device data)

Note: In-app deletion removes data from your device but may not delete data from REMAC servers. For complete deletion from servers, submit a formal deletion request.

10. Appeals Process

If your deletion request is denied (in whole or in part), you have the right to appeal. To appeal:

  1. Reply to the denial email within 30 days
  2. Include "APPEAL - Data Deletion Request" in the subject line
  3. Explain why you believe the denial was incorrect
  4. Provide any additional information that supports your request

Appeals are reviewed by our privacy team and you will receive a response within 15 business days.
